bronze melong is integral to ritual healing for Tibetan

as a receptacle for the shaman's soul when he is on a shamanic

The black mala of the
shaman's lineage. Riddha mala are worn only by
shamans. The riddha "beads" are actually seeds
famous for their exorcising powers. Each mala has 108
beads plus one guru bead.

All rudraksha mala are the tears of
Shiva who cried when he saw the suffering of the world.
His tears fell to earth & grew into the rudraksha tree,
which yields the seeds from which the malas are made.

The large malas are strung from 40 rudraksha seeds & 41
boddhisitta (enlightenment) beads.
