THANKA (TIBETAN PAINTED SCROLL)

Thanka painting is a highly evolved art in the Himalayas, and thanka have been used for centuries as a meditation tool for both the painter and the Buddhist practitioners.  Deities depicted in the scrolls become embodied with life and thereafter serve as teachers for the meditators.  Framed in the highest quality silk brocade, these thanka are true works of art.  Paints are hand-ground stone colors.  Choose from Tara, Medicine Buddha, and Buddhas of Compassion.

DRUMMING FOR SHAMANIC JOURNEYS
(Drumming CD by Larry G. Peters)

Journeying sounds in two segments; a long (36 min.) journey and a shorter (12 min.) one that also includes the chanting of sacred invocations.  The clash of cymbals at the beginning of the long journey aids in the "rupture of plane" necessary to release the soul from the body for the ritual journey into the realm of spirit beings. Both the long and short journeys have a return beat to guide journeyers in tracing the steps back to their bodies.
